This week I am featuring a knit stitch I have used often to make hats, the chevron rib stitch. While the stitch looks moderately complex, it falls into an easy to remember pattern making it suitable for nearly all skill levels.
I like how thick this stitch works up as well as the interesting texture it creates. Furthermore, it is as stretchy as any other rib stitch. As an added bonus, it knits incredibly flat. You can probably get away without blocking it if you don't enjoy that part of the process. Lastly, the pattern is completely reversible so you don't have to worry about which side is the right side when assembling a final project.
